Default [GvG] Isle of Destruction

First of all, "hello".
Played GW in it's earliest days. Played L2 when GW was kinda boring. And now I'm back playing Faction. With a touch of the prophecies ofcourse.

2nd, Search function. I've used it and read most of the things that were found. I saw things about Guild halls, AvA, 7 sea's topic and several other. blah blah. So..hmm...

3rd, this might be my 1st and last threat here. Got no idea. Although I should have more convidence in myself but well, w/e.


Let's get started on explaining the Title
It's GvG related. Simple. 8 players with 8 skills fighting against other players. Nothing more to be said.

The "Isle of the Destruction"
"Isle" as in "Island". (There is an Isle of the Nameless so..it would do)

"Destruction" as in "Destruction". Loads of killing, Balthazar loves to see war.

So basicly a few points that would probably fit best to this type of idea.

In 1 line said: A heavy continuous battle for the control of the island.
Something like te Favor of the gods. But slightly more the Balthazar's playground.

Basic Features:
- For Guilds only
- Ship only a few yards away from the island is the outpost that will let a party enter the area. (your alliance only area)
- Standard Balthazar Faction.
- Mechanism's all over the island. Siege weapons, Teleports, Triggersetc. etc.
- Several "lock/unlock" area's will be made to assure safe guard the newly arrived party. These will be locked if none is in that area. And the next party could possibly be spawned there.
- Several outpost* controlled by Bandit's or Outlaw. These can be taken over by force. (5 outpost's most likely? 4 around and 1 in the middle?)

* These are not real towns. You can compare these outposts like the Ascalon settlement in kryta or the Tengu settlement on Shing Jea.

Guild Features:
- Max 1 Alliance party (party can be made out of several guilds in the alliance)
- 1 to 10 parties can be located on the island (or more?)
- Controlable area's

Landscaping:
- Spread out hostile: bandit's and outlaw
- Accessible building locations. (landscape advantage)
- Disrupting environment (all kinds of damaging "trap" things)


Q: Why only 1 party out of the "whole" alliance?
A: Here you'll have a sittuation where you'll let 8x10 players go rampaging on an island. People in a particular alliance will be allied and will merge together to go kill just a 8 player group. Or even in a worser situation. 3 or more groups will combine strength to kill their opponents. This will even more unbalance the island. If you would make this public for everyone. Guilds will simply just split up meat eachother up at the outpost and will again bond together in the battle.

Q: HA has got this sort of thing already? Why should we want this?
A: The thing that makes this Isle so special. That it's endless. When a guild is defeated there is most likely a new guild just waiting to enter. Ofcourse at a moment of time your own party will be defeated cause of people leaving or that several team mates are killed and you can't reach them. It's a hard fact but you'll have to come up with a very good strategie to revive your team mates. There will probably be no other way to revive your team mates trough shrines.

Q: What do I need to think about these Bandit's and Outlaw?
A: These are player like NPC's. (none playing characters) They will guard an area that is hard to take over but has great positive value if you have got it. When one guild loses this area. The new guild got 5 minuts time to take over the area. If they do not succeed. New Bandit's or Outlaw will spawn. Slowly but increasing. (every 10 to 30 seconds, depends on the strength of the NPC)

Q: What if there is only 1 party on the island?
A: This party will be notified that they are the only ones on the island. If a new party will arive they will be notified again.

This is basicly it. Idea's? Comments? Puke? Trash? Flames? Feel free

I would like some thing like this, a new PvP area.

hmmm, i'll try but don't expect something graphical spectaculair.

Edit:

Well ok, this map is pretty much worthless but at least it gives some sort of idea how it "could" be. Note: There are more then 4 teams on the island later on. Not that those 4 starter points at the button with all a party will all rush to a different outpost and sit and wait.
Yeah, it's pretty hard to design a good functional map but it's a start. It doesn't look promessing at all but it could take GvG to a different lvl at it is now.
